Crafty Grandma To The Rescue!!!!!!

So if any of you have grand children, the one thing you all know is that they have but to tear up and whatever they want is theirs.  My youngest grandchild, Angie, is almost six,,,,,,she's in Kindergarten, and according to her,,,,,,,,,EVERYONE has boutique bows in school. The most IMPORTANT everyone (Her best friend, Riley) has them, and therefore,,,,,,,,she needs them. And of course, my DD chimes in that she bets GRANDMA can make them,,,,,,

Never mind that I've never made a boutique bow in my LIFE,,,,,,never mind that my first try isn't perfect,,,,,,,my granddaughter is happy,,,,,,,,,,,she loves them, and that's all that matters.

Just a little something different than another card for this weekend!!!!!!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the bows!!!! There are a ton of tutorials on You-tube, if you're interested in making some of these,,,but this is the one I used,,,,,it's relatively simple,,,,but it DOES take some practice :)

Party Time Tuesdays!!!!!

Good Tuesday Morning!!!!!!  It's time for Party Time Tuesdays weekly challenge!!! I know you love it,,,,,,and this is our monthly ANYTHING GOES challenge!!!! So anything your heart desires! Just please remember that during our Anything Goes Challenge, we have SO many entries, it's simply impossible for us to comment! We love to see your entries, but to be fair to all, we simply don't comment during this challenge! But know we are looking!!!!

Since it was Anything Goes, I decided to go a bit differently than normal!  I made these really darling candy bags for my grand children and youngest daughter (who thought they were so cute she had to have one!)

I colored these darling scare crows with copics, and fussy cut them out, inking the edges of the moon for effect.I used a 5.5 x11 inch piece of kraft card stock and simply scored at 4.5 and 6x5 folding up both ends,,,,,,,the food grade polystyrene bags full of candy just slip down inside and I stapled the top together (with the bag in there) to hold the bag in,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Fancy pants paper on the front, and then I cut some more fancy pants paper out of my Grand labels 23 nesties to fold over the top,,,,,,,,,I decorated with nested pumpkins and fancy pants stickers,,,,,,,,,and she's done!

Here's a close up of the side, where you can see the candies,,,,,,

Click on any of the pictures to see a larger version,,,,,,,,

My Sweet Mother-in-law

Good Afternoon!!!!!

Sometimes you just gotta build up your stash!!!!  Time for a few more for the "sell" Pile,,,,,it's getting low!

So today, I just thought I'd share some cards that go into my sell pile,,,,,,most of the time I'm sharing cards that are DT cards, or challenge cards,,,,,those have requirements, a theme to follow or a stamp to use specifically. Sometimes the "sell" cards are a lot more fun because I can use what I want, mix my stamps sets if I feel like it or put as many (or as few) embellishments on as I want to!

Bonjour!!!

Good Afternoon!!!!  I've always been fascinated with anything French,,,,,,I took 8 years of it in school, and I've been a travel agent and had the opportunity to go many times,,and I am totally in love with Paris!! And I was lucky enough to win the grand prize at Simon Says Stamp this past week and win 50.00 worth of goodies! I scored some Paris themed Just Rite stamps and SEVERAL Memory Box dies,,,,,,love them!

Today the mail came and I just had so much fun playing with stamps and dies!!!!  I knew I wanted to do another entry for the Justrite Friday Challenge, "Charm Me" so off I went to play with my new Justrite stamps, Au Revoir.

Here's what I came up with!
I created a little collage with several of the stamps in the set and added a pop of color with some red ink,,,,,,,,the dies I used for this card are spellbinders postage stamps and Romantic rectangles, and Memory box Lorelai Outline Leaf, Elegant Scrollwork, and Wrought Iron Gate.  I added a heart charm to a sheer black bow, and finished off with two stick pins and a sparkly button.

Here's a close up of the stamps and the bow cluster, including the heart charm,,,,,,

The inks I used to stamp with are ColorBox Cranberry, and Versafine Onyx Black and Vintage Sepia.

Thanks for  looking, and I hope you enjoyed the card!!!!

Here's my Z-fold card,,,,,

Paper and die cut are of course, Fancy Pants! Isn't that paper gorgeous??

The gorgeous butterflies are a digi stamp by The crafty Pad Designs,,,,,,I colored them with copics ad fussy cut them out, bending up the wings so that there would be a 3-D effect,,,,,,,a 4 tailed bow, some pearls and velvet ribbon, and she's bright and happy and ready to brighten the day of anyone!

Here's the Z fold,,,,

I love a Z fold, because there's PLENTY of room inside to write a special note!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by,,,,,,,,,,head on over to PTT and upload your multi-fold card for a chance to win!!!

JustRite challenge!!!!

Good afternoon!!!!! So it's time for another Justrite challenge! This 2 weeks, they want to see CHARMS on your card.  Well, I love charms!!!!! I love them so much, I wouldn't be surprised if you see more than one entry for this challenge LOL!

I'm still on a Christmas card kick, gotta get them finished before the crazy busy time of the year comes rolling around!

I used some MME scraps, Banner Basics Two, Nested Mittens, my Justrite Nested dies, and, of course, my Justrite stamps to create this simple, yet elegant card,,,,,,

I created a simple 4 tailed bow out of glitter ribbon and a few simple stick pins,,,,,,,,The snow flake charm I wanted to use was silver,,,,,,and I thought gold so much prettier for this card, so I just colored the silver snowflake with a gold copic pen, and VOILA! a gold snowflake!!!  A bit of sparkle with some gemstones,,,,,,,,and I really like it!!!!!

Here's a close up of the charm, ribbon and stick pin cluster :)

I'm also entering this into the scrapbook.com challenge "make a christmas card with scraps" and the Our Daily Bread challenge "use a bird on your card"

I hope you enjoyed the card, and thank you so much for looking and for your comments! They are greatly appreciated!!!!!

Happy birthday, Grandson!!!!!

Good afternoon!!!!  In a few days, one of my grand sons will be eleven. So, of course, off I went to make a birthday card,,,,,,,,,he's receiving a video game system from his father and my daughter (His step mother), so I thought this paper from DCWV (Generation Tech stack) and this image from Mo Manning (Video Boy, African American version) would be perfect,,,,,,,The image is perfect for African American boys and also Hispanic boys like my grand son,,,,,,,,and probably even curly haired white children,,,,,,it's really an adorable image,,,,,,,,,there are also female versions and straight haired versions available!

Here's my card!

And here's a close up of this really darling image, which I've colored with copics and cut out and matted with Labels One.

I've used my Justrite fonts to add my text-speak/computer-speak "Happy Birthday to You" sentiment,,,,,,Kids,,,,,,they speak a different language these days LOL.

Anyway, Happy Birthday, Angel,,,,,,,Grandma loves you!  And thank you all for looking,,I hope you liked the card :)

Sugar Creek Hollow!

Good Morning! We have a wonderful new challenge for you over at Sugar Creek Hollow! We want to see your vintage and shabby chic cards and projects with FABRIC! And ribbon and lace DO NOT COUNT!

Here's mine!
I made the rolled roses by freestyle cutting a spiral of felt (fabric) and then rolling and gluing,,,,,,,simple! The dresses I found SOMEWHERE online (I really wish people would put their websites on these things) and the button card is a leftover (search button card on my blog and in one of those posts there's a link to free button cards),,,,,,,,,,,,paper is Pink Paislee London Market,,,,,,,,,and I loved the cover sheet so much, I used part of it on my card LOL!  Stamps are Justrite Just the Right Words set.

close up!

and the inside for my sweet, giving, lovely daughter.

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,,,,now run right over to SCH and link up your card made with fabric for a chance to win!

Thanks and Get Wells,,,,,,,,and a big disappointment,,,,,,,

Good Morning!  I hope everyone has been watching the RNC and the DNC,,,,voting is an amazing right. So let's do it!

This morning I have two cards to share,,,,,,,,the first is a thank you to the Cuban American friends we spent a lovely day with last week,,,,,,,they sent us home with a lovely bottle of wine, and we wanted to send a thank you card,,,,,,,it probably would have gone out sooner, but I've been busy working on the album for his mother,,,,,

The rolled roses are felt,,,,,I cut them myself free hand, easy peasy, and just rolled them up and glued with a glue gun,,,,,,,,the paper is MME Lost and Found Two Blush collection,,,,,,Oooo la la, I love this paper! I also used my FAV new stamp set, Just the Right Words set by Justrite to create my sentiment, which I then matted with circles large and picot edge circles.

My next card explains the big disappointment,,,,,,,,,,it's a get well card made for Jose,,,,,,the man whose mother is becoming an American Citizen today,,,,,,,,,,he had an emergency appendectomy yesterday morning and won't be able to go to the ceremony for his mother. I can only imagine how he feels. My husband called home and asked me to make a get well card for him, and of course, I did,,,,,,,,,,,and I feel so badly for him.

Now guy cards are tough for me,,,,,,,but I did my best.  I used MME Lost and Found Two Sunshine deck, and went with a color scheme of gold and black,,,,,,,,,with a bit of off white. Labels 14, some shiny gold ribbon, some leaves inked thhrough the die, and a fancy gold corner piece, and she's done.

I hope you enjoyed the cards, and thanks for looking!

Brand New American!!!!

It's Wednesday,,,,,,and on Friday, the mother of my husband's co-worker will become an American Citizen. Yesterday, I showed you a card I made to go along with her gift,,,,,,a hand made patriotic themed mini book,,,,,

And today, I'd lie to share the mini I made for Gisella,,,,,I'll list all products at the end, because otherwise, this post will take forever to read LOL.

Here is the cover,,,,,,,I cut lightweight chipboard with spellbinders, and cut the papers the same, slicing off the left hand side for ease of binding,,,,,,in this way, it was a simple thing to just cut all the pages quickly,,,,,it saved a TON of time!

and a close up of the bling,,,,,,
pages one and two,,,,,,
the right hand side opens up for 3 photo spots,,,,,and the left side is for a larger photo.
pages 3 and 4,,,,,,,a pocket page on the left,,,,,,,,,and the right has a small tag in it and it opens up to reveal 16 photo spots,,,,,

like this,,,,,,,

pages five and six,,,,,,,,,left hand side is for a larger photo,,and right hand side pocket holds a pull out for eight photo spots,,,,,,sorry, forgot to photograph the pull out, but they are tag sized.
pages seven and eight,,,,,
photo on the left and pocket on the right,,,,,,,,the right side says US CITIZEN.

and here's the tags,,,,,where Gisella can write all about her journey to become a new US Citizen,,,,,

Products Used:

Paper:MME Christmas Paper, Recollections card stock
dies:Spellbinders Grand Labels 23, Floral Ovals, labels 18
stamps: Tim Holtz, Justrite
images: Bumble Button and freevintagedigistamps.com
ribbon: Hobby Lobby
inks: Versafine Onyx Black and sepia, color box cranberry
bound with the Cinch binding tool 1 inch black O-wires.

WOO HOO new stamps!!!!

Good Evening! I got my new Justrite Stamps today in the mail, and boy was I happy to see them!  I don't know about you, but when I get something new, the first thing I have to do is open them and put them to use,,,,,,ink them up :)

My husband works with a man who is originally from Cuba,,,,we ha the greatest honor last week to be invited to their home for a BBQ. They are truly amazing people,,,,,,,

Have you ever had a life changing moment? A moment when you knew you'd never see a certain thing the same way again? Well, I had one last week,,,,,,,Jose talked about what living in Cuba under Castro was like,,,,,,he talked about 2 lbs of meat per person PER MONTH allowance,,,,,,he talked about 3 eggs per person,,,,and going to jail if you were caught with more,,,,He was a chemical engineer in Cuba and his wife was a doctor,,,,,,,yet they made less than citrus pickers do here in the US. And they are so humbly grateful to live here in the US and to be US citizens. Several years ago, after they had become citizens, they sponsored Jose's mother, Gisella, to come here,,,,,,,,she did what they did,,,worked hard, learned English, and humbly, gratefully, dare I say JOYFULLY, is becoming a US Citizen on Friday,,,,,,when I tell you she GLOWED, it's not enough.

I had to do something,,,,,,,,,so I decided to make her a mini book for her memories and her photos from the big day,,,,,,,and on her journey to become an American,,,,,,,today I finished that book, and I will post it tomorrow,,,,,

but today, my JR stamps came, and I KNEW I was going to make her a card to go along with the book. I wanted it to match,,,and, in some way, to show her how amazing I thought she was,,,,,,and my new stamps were PERFECT for that,,,,

And so here is Gisella's card,,,,and in a way, a sneak peak at the mini album I made to match,,,,,

The paper, believe it or not, is MME Christmas paper,,,,,,do you know how difficult it is to find 4th of July, red white and blue paper in SEPTEMBER? yeah, it's tough LOL. I had one week to make this thing, so I didn't even have time to ORDER any,,,,,,,so I went with the deep burgundies in the Xmas paper (the ones that didn't have santa or Xmas trees on them LOL) and matched it up with some red, white and blue ribbon,,

This card is a gatefold card, so it opens in the middle,,,click on the card to better see the seam in the middle underneath the center focal image. My focal image is comprised of Spellbinders floral ovals, spellbinders lacey ovals, spellbinders floral ovals, and spellbinders ovals large.

bling is prima that I colored red and blue with copics,,,,,,,,,,,and the stamps are JustRite "Just the right Words" set of Amazing Paper Grace stamps. This set is amazing,,,,,you can mix and match so many words for just the right words for your card or project!

Here's a close up of the front of the card,,,,,,

Here's the inside!

I hope Gisella likes it,,,,,,,,,and I'm almost sorry that she'll probably call or send a thank you,,,,,,,,because I am the one who SHOULD BE thanking her.

I'll be entering this into the Justrite challenge this week for my second entry.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed the card!

Party Time Tuesdays!

Good Morning!  September has started and the kiddos are back to school! I heard the sound of mother's sighing all over my neighborhood this past week or two LOL.  And over at Party Time Tuesdays this week, we have a fab challenge for you! We want to see Teacher's Gifts/Back to school cards and projects!  Flonz Stamps will be sponsoring us this month, so stay tuned to see the fab projects and cards our DT will be turning out all month!

This week, however, I have a teacher's book mark made with Stitchy Bear Stamps!

I colored this darling image with copics and fussy cut it,,,,,I then matted it on red card stock cut out with my new Floral Ovals.  The book mark itself was cut from chipboard with long scalloped rectangles and covered with red card stock,,,,,,I then cut the MME  Lost and Found Christmas design paper from long rectangles. A pretty red polka dot ribbon and it's bright, pretty and simple for my grand daughter's teacher!

So come on over to Party Time Tuesdays and check out the DT's inspiration that we have prepared for you, see some gorgeous stamps and digis, and load up your card or project! You might win a prize!

Thanks for looking,,,,,,,I do hope you enjoyed the project! And I so appreciate all your comments,,,,,they mean the world to me :)

I love you,,,,,,,,More than Chocolate!!!

This is going to be a super quick blog post,,,,,I have a Disney World Park to get to LOL and it's been a CRAZY week,,,,,,,,,but I want to post this card for the Justrite Challenge in time!

The theme this 2 weeks was FANCY FOLDS,,,,,,,,I really really REALLY wanted to use a JR stamp that I just bought, that's a Christmas stamp,,,,,,,but NOT make a Christmas card,,,,,,,,,,,so how did I do??? Can you tell??

I hope not!!!! but yes, that striped paper there, is a JR stamp called the Merry Christmas Background stamp.
I simply covered the center up with spellbinders, and VOILA! no more Christmas! I love this stamp because, really, it's so darned useful for more than just Christmas! The paper I used for the background and the Romantic Rectangles that cover up the center panel is MME Lost and Found,,,,,,and then I layered my new Floral Ovals on top of that with my sentiment in the middle.

Here's my fancy fold card OPEN,,,,,

It's an Easel card!!!!!! See that little box right there that holds the card open???

this one!

Untie that bow,,,,,,,,,

It's for a friend,,,,,,,,,and the sentiments are Just Rite, of course,,,,,,,,,,the I love You on the front of the card AND the MORE THAN CHOCOLATE that I stamped with the JR Marketplace Alphabet I just won. Cute huh??

I'll also be entering this into the Simon Says Stamp challenge ANYTHING GOES!

Hope you enjoyed the card, and thanks for looking!!!!!!!!
