Ghosties and Goblins and Other Spooky Things!

Good afternoon!  It's totally amazing to me that it's practically September already! Where has the summer gone? The kids are back to school, and many of my friends are sending their babies off to college dorms,,,

Before we know it, the Holidays will be here,,,,,Halloween isn't my favorite holiday, but to me, it signals the beginning of cooler weather here in Florida,,,,,which turns my mind to thinking of Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. This is when I start to panic if my shopping isn't up to where I think it should be by then LOL.

So for that reason, if nothing else, I do like to see Halloween roll around,,,,,,it's a fun holiday, especially for children,,,,,,and so I've made a pumpkin mini book for my sister to put my nephew, Robbie's, Halloween pics in,,,,,,

It's a small mini,,,,,,just large enough to slip a  wallet size photo or two on every page,,,,,,and I've filled it with some fun spellbinders and bright spooky Echo Park and Making Memories Halloween paper,,,,,,,

Hope you enjoy it!!!

I've cut the cereal box chipboard with the largest of the Spellbinders Nested Pumpkins and then stamped the front of the album with my Justrite  50 and 95pt font. I love that I was able to customize this album for my sister!  I also stamped the orange ribbon with the word BOO! using my Justrite Market Place Alpha in Versafine Onyx Black ink,,,,,,,I love being able to customize ribbon! A plain ribbon becomes something special with Justrite!

I cut all the design papers with Nested Pumpkins as well, which really makes for an easy assembling of a mini book! No more tracing a chipboard shape 10 times and cutting it out by hand!  I've also used Spellbinders Jack O' Lanterns and Banner Basics 1 to decorate these pages.
More cute spellbinders,,,,,,the smallest of the nested pumpkins sports a witches hat from Witches Brew, and a witch (also witches Brew) flies across a circles large yellow moon.
Another grinning Jack O' Lantern, a black cat from Witches Brew, and a personalized page with Robbie's name.
Another banner and some darling witches shoes from Witches Brew go nicely with the witches legs and shoes paper from Making Memories.
And finally the back cover,,,,I couldn't resist putting one more Jack O' Lantern just for a cute accent.

I hope you enjoyed the album, and I know my nephew's pictures will be darling in this little album! I appreciate your comments, they really mean the world to me!

Good Morning!!!!!!!

It's Tuesday again, and time for our Party Time Tuesdays challenge,,,,,Anything Goes!

But before we Get to our fabulous sponsors this week, I'd like to remind you of the Blog Hop for our DT member Jen Scull tomorrow August 29th. There will be tons of fun and tons of prizes, so we hope to see you there!

On to this week!  Our fabulous sponsors this week are Digital Delights, The Stamping Boutique, Crafty Sentiments and Designs on Cloud 9!!!!!!  Thanks so much to our generous sponsors!

My oldest daughter went back to college recently to get her degree in Deaf Studies (Her oldest child is deaf and ultimately she wants to be a teacher for the Deaf).  She was very VERY worried about her first science in college. I am happy to report that she was thrilled to bring home an A+!  We are thrilled for her, she worked very hard,,,,,,,,,so I sent her this card using this DARLING and absolutely PERFECT for my needs image by the Stamping Boutique that just HAPPENED to fall in my lap at exactly the right time,,,,,,,,

Don't you just LOVE those bubbling flasks? How perfect is this for an A in science class? I was also able to use some of those fabulous Authentique stickers that were so nicely given to us earlier in the month by the Paper Parade!

I colored the image with copics, cut it out with spellbinders postage stamps and then inked through the die like a stencil,,,,,I did the same with the square with A+ on it and my sentiment "Way to go!"  I used Basic Grey paper and a bright butterfly bow to really accent this school themed card!

I hope you enjoyed the card, and thanks for looking! Your comments mean the world to me!  Hope to see you tomorrow for the blog hop!

A Day for Daisies!!!!!

Good Morning! It's time for yet another challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow this week! I hope you all enjoyed the Alumni DT work last week! Wasn't it wonderful?? But the current DT is back again this week with our theme this week,,,,,,,,

ANGELS AND FAIRIES! And our sponsor this week is none other than the fabulous A DAY FOR DAISIES!

Our generous sponsor provided each of the DT with an image to work with,,,,,,and I picked this gorgeous Star Angel,,,,,,,,She's really so versitile,,,,,,I decided to portray her as a Christmas star angel, and colored her armful of pretties as red flowers with green leaves,,,,,,,,The paper is Graphic 45's Christmas Past paper,,,,,,,,a leftover red flower, some red berries and a leaf,,,,a bit of leftover lace,,,,and some sparkly gold and black velvet ribbons really set her off!

Here she is in all her glory!

I hope you enjoyed the card, and thanks for looking,,,,,,,,be sure to stop by Sugar Creek Hollow and upload your vintage or shabby chic card!

Happy Happy Hump Day!!!!!

It's Wednesday, and the week is half over!!!! Frankly, THURSDAY is my favorite day! It's PAY DAY and I get to spend some scrappy $$$,,,,,

but,,,,,,,today is Wednesday,,,,and it's gray and rainy here in central Florida,,,,,,so I'm taking it easy today and making a few cards!

Over on Scrapbook.com, a few of us have gotten together to do a really low pressure Christmas card challenge,,,,,,,,and this week's challenge is to use a die cut AND a stamp,,,,,,

So here's my VERY PINK card LOL. I do not know what i was thinking! it looks like pepto bismol threw up on my card LOL,,,,,,,,,ah well, they can't ALL be wonderful, can they???

I used some leftover MME Lost and Found glitter paper I had over my brown card stock base,,,,,,,,one of my favorite Christmas stamps by inkadinkado, and my Justrite nested Christmas Sentiments to make this card,,,,,,,,

I layered some brown pleated ribbon, white lace and white pearls before cutting the tree with Labels 14. The sentiment was cut out using my custom Justrite Nested dies that go along with the nested sentiments,,, I created the pink satin bow on my bow maker and added an enamel pearl button,,,,,,,,

and she's finished,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and a little TOO pink LOL.

I hope you enjoyed my card, even as pink as it is,,and I hope in some way it gives you a laugh!

JustRite Stamps Challenge!!

Here I am again, with another JustRite stamps challenge entry! This week we are to use the color wheel to create a card or project with colors opposite of eachother on the wheel. I had a ton of fun with this project,,,,,it's a cracker jar I found at Walmart for about 3.00. I altered it with curly ribbons and JustRite stamps for my grand daughter who is five and going to Kindergarten for the first time tomorrow!

Here's the front of the Jar,,,I used Labels 14 (new to me!) to stamp my grand daughter's name in 95 pt font. Justrite is no longer making this font (I'm so sad!) but if you hurry you can grab a few of these font sizes they have left for significant savings!

The ribbon was curled by dampening with water, wrapping around wooden dowels, and baking in a low ove (225 degrees F) for 20 minutes or until dry,,,,,,when you uncurl the ribbon from the dowels, it stays that way! so cute!

Here you can see the ribbon and lace I wrapped around the jar,,,,,,,

Here's the top of the jar,,,,,,,I used classic circles large to cut out the pink and green paper for matting to cover the jar top with,,,,,,,,,then I stamped the ribbon border from JustRite Back Yard Birds set,,,,,,,,and I used 50 pt font to stamp BOWS AND RIBBONS with,,,,,,,,some colored pencils to color the ribbon with and a few buttons just for cuteness factor,,,,,,

and a few matching ribbons and bows to go in the jar,,,,,,,,,and she's finished! My granddaughter LOVES ribbons and bows, and I just KNOW she'll have a smile on her face as she goes off to Kindergarten tomorrow!

I hope you enjoyed,,,,,you still have a day or two to enter Justrite's challenge if you hurry!!!!!!!  Thanks for looking,,,,,,your comments mean the world to me, and I'd love to come visit your blog!

Just "Layering" Around,,,,,,,

Good Afternoon!!!!! I just love love LOVE the look of how spellbinders layer,,,,,it's the reason I started collecting Spellbinders,,,,,,it's an obsession,,,,,it's why I now have over 50 of the bleeping things,,,,,,

But for some reason, I have to remind myself to do it,,,,,,,Probably, because it often means a LARGER card,,,,,and I tend to like smaller cards,,,,,,,but the more spellbinders I get, the more layering I want to do,,,,,,and the larger my cards have to get to not look over crowded LOL.  So today, I decided to make a card layered with spellbinders,,,,,

I used scraps of Christmas paper, even though this card isn't a Christmas card,,,,,so here it is, and I hope you enjoy it!

From the bottom up, the spellbinders I used are postage stamps, Parisian Motifs, Picot Edge Circles, and labels one to cut out the center of Picot edge circles,,,,,,A couple of roses made with spiral blossoms one,,,,,,,,,some bling,,,,,and a gorgeous bow, and she's finished,,,,,,,

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,thanks for looking! Leave me a comment, and I'll come over to your blog and see you!

Have a great week!

I hope you enjoy all the cards! I know the DT had a great time making them!!!!

Here's the card I made using 3 stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps!

I just loved this image,,,,so elegant,,,,so lovely! And it went so well with the grass and the sentiment I was given!  I used Lost and Found paper to mat my black card base with, then cut out my image with scalloped ovals small and matted with a larger die from the same set,,,,,I inked through the die to age it just a bit,,,,,,I fussy cut the grass, inking the edges of that as well,,,,,,,and layered it over the flowers,,,,,,then I cut out the sentiment (a favorite, by Mother Teresa) with rectangles Long and matted that onto scalloped rectangles long,,,,,,,,,I inked that through the die as well and used a ribbon and a rose created with Spiral Blossoms One (with a bit cut off the die cut for a smaller rose) to accent. A few pearls, and some buttons, and she's finished,,,,,,,,I used just a pop of red on my card,,,,in the button, the flower and the flourish under the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed, and thanks for looking!!!!!!! Run on over to Party Time Tuesdays and link up YOUR Garden Delights card and join the Garden Party with the Party Planners!

An Old Fashioned Christmas!

Good afternoon,,,,,,,,,,,anyone who knows me KNOWS that I love Justrite stamps! They have to be one of my favorite stamp companies EVERRR. Every two weeks they offer a challenge using their stamps,,,,,I've entered a few times,,,,,and have decided to enter more often,,,,,,,,the prizes are phenomenal,,,,,,,,and the practice never hurts!

so, without further ado, my first entry to the "Opposites Attract" challenge over at Justrite.  We were to pick two colors opposite on the color wheel and use any shade of those colors to create a project with. I chose red and green, since I really NEED Christmas cards,,,,,

I used some lovely K and Company Christmas paper for the base of my kraft card.  I stamped my image from the Old Fashioned Christmas set onto white paper, colored with copics and then cut it out with Ovals large,,,,,,,,I matted it on 2010 Snowflake Pendants and two layers of Holly Motifs, which I cut into two,,the whole rests on a ruffled red striped ribbon, which I've accented with a red and white polka dot ribbon,,,,,a red butterfly bow and a spellbinders candy cane that I have inked through the die completes the card.

Here's a close up of this gorgeous stamp!

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,,,run on over to the Justrite Inspirations blog to upload YOUR Opposites Attract card or project,,,,,,,,the prizes are really amazing! Since they allow you to enter multiple times, I am hoping to have one more project up for the challenge before it closes!

Thanks for looking!!!!!!!

Use Wrapping Paper!

Hello!!!! So anyone who knows me, KNOWS I love challenges,,,,,,but this one turned into a REAL challenge for me LOL. The challenge over at Scrapbook.com this week in the weekly Christmas card challenge was to use WRAPPING PAPER,,huh??? people HAVE wrapping paper in August? LOL, any that I have left is usually at the bottom of the holiday closet crumpled under the mistletoe LOL.

But I managed to FIND some, believe it or not,,,,,,,,one small square,,,,,,,,thick, good quality,,,barely manageable,,,and SPARKLY green,,,and so I made my cards,,,,,,,The sentiments all come from one set or another of Justrite Stamps,,,,,,one of my favorite brands,,and of course, I used my 2010 heirloom ornament nesties,,,,,,,and my Holly Motifs,,,,,,,I think they came out half way decent,,,,,,,,for wrapping paper!!!!!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  Leave me a comment, and I'll come visit your blog!

Justrite Challenge!!!!!

Good afternoon!!!!!  I just love love LOVE Justrite stamps!  while making a list of Justrite stamps I am planning to buy with this week's scrappy fund, I came across the challenge blog,,,,,,CHRISTMAS! Yay, I can do Christmas!

I had a ball creating for this challenge,,,,,,,,Here's my Justrite card!

The bird stamp is from the Back Yard birds set,,,,,since it has interchangeable borders with other 3 1/4 inch round stamp sets, I was easily able to  use a border from the Old Fashioned Christmas set,,,,,One of the borders I colored with copcs and raised up on pop dots to fully encircle this gorgeous red cardinal,,,,,,,,,,and the other (the red ribbon), I colored and cut in half to use just part of at the top of the first border,,,,,I think they look lovely together, and is one of the hallmarks of Justrite,,,,,,the ability to interchange centers and borders.  I've also used the Hearts Come Home set for the sentiment, and layered that on spellbinders lacy squares,,,,,,

Here's a closer look at these fab stamps!

I hand rolled the red and white organza ribbon roses, and layered on border punched K and company paper, gorgeous white lace, a big white organza bow and spellbinders foliage that I inked with momento ink. Some pearls, and she's finished! I absolutely LOVE it,,,,,it will be gorgeous for my mother for Christmas!

I hope you enjoyed the card,,,,,,,,I am literally squeaking in under the wire here for the Justrite challenge, but they have them often! so check them o ut! They have phenomenal prizes!  You'll find their amazing challenges and plenty of inspiration for using their stamps with spellbinders dies HERE!

Thanks for looking!!!!!!!

Spellbinders Halloween!!!!

Hello there!  I don't make many Halloween cards, but I do enjoy making a few, usually for the children in my life.  Today, I've made two for my grand children using Spellbinders "Witches Brew" and "Jack O' Lanterns".  I've used the absolutely ADORABLE Echo Park The Apothecary Emporium paper,,,,,,,,too cute!

Here's the one for my Grandson, Michael,,,,,,

Isn't that pumpkin the cutest??? I've matted him on Eyelet Circles and hand cut a few pennants out of scraps from the same stack. Easy peasy!

Here's the card for my Grand daughter, Angeliegh,,,,,

I just love those witches shoes in the Witches Brew set!!!! They always make me giggle! I've matted them on lacy ovals and used Banner Basics 1 to create a cute little banner at the top,,,,,,

And since I love for there to be something cute on the inside (besides the money I'll include!) Here's the inside of the cards,,
