Sassy Cheryl's, CSAYL and a Card for Fun!

Good Evening,,,,,,,,about the only GOOD thing about having several herniated discs is that when they go out, you have a good excuse to sit on your butt and do nothing but make cards LOL.

Yep,,,,,two days of relaxation here,,,,,,,but I do believe I am on the mend :)

Today, I have a challenge entry for two challenges!

Sassy Cheryl's weekly challenge this week is "pretty papers",,,,,they want to see your cards with pretty papers!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long wants to see your cards using the following picture for inspiration!

It was an easy combination!!!!!

Here's my card for both challenges!

I colored the Sassy Cheryl image with copics and prismacolors, cut it out with Spellbinders 2010 Heirloom Ornaments and then debossed it with a Tim Holtz sow flake embossing folder,,,,,,I then embossed white card stock with the same folder, and cut several more ornament shapes from several of my prettiest green papers,,,,,I also cut the star from the Sassy Cheryl image separately from the image with the smallest ornament die. I "hung" the ornaments on sparkly gold ribbon, pop dotted them up, and gave each ornament a gold bow.  Easy peasy and really pretty!

So run on over to Sassy Cheryl's and Christmas Stampin' All Year Long and load up your cards! You might win a prize

My second card is just for fun! I had this image in my computer and I've been meaning to do something with it for some time now,,,,,,,I cut the image out using spellbinders rectangles long and spellbinders scallopped rectangles long, added some cute die cuts, hand rolled roses, lace, velvet ribbon and a bow! It's a bit different than my normal "vintage" cards, but I think I like it!

I hope you enjoyed the cards, and thanks for looking!!!!!!

ANYTHING GOES!!!!!!

Yep, that's right! It's the last week of the month, and over at Party Time Tuesdays, that means our challenge is ANYTHING GOES!  Make anything your little heart desires!  Just please remember, that we do not comment the last week of the month due to the TREMENDOUS response...we love to see your stuff, but we simply can not comment due to the volume!

Our generous sponsors this week are,,,,,,,,,

Martha Pineda (supplying this gorgeous lace), Crafty Sentiments (supplying this adorable digi stamp), The Digi Garden and Viva Decor!!!!!

Here's my creation!

I colored the image with copics and cut it out with Ovals Large,,,,,and then matted it with Lacey ovals and Parisian Motifs,,,I used scraps of Webster's Pages for this bright red, blue and a touch of yellow card,,,,and really had fun with the buttons this week!  I adhered the Martha Pineda lace with hot glue after ruffling it,,,,,it looks SO fluffy in real life,,,,,,just gorgeous!

Here's a close up image of this darling stamp!

She TOTALLY looks like she's ready to go somewhere fun and exciting!

I hope you enjoyed the card, and thanks for looking! Run right over to Party Time Tuesdays to load up YOUR anything goes project!!!

The Shabby Tea Room Again!!!

Well, practice makes perfect, so here I am, yet again, trying a bit of shabby crafting :)

I so love the look :)

This week over at the Shabby Tea Room they have another challenge for us,,,,,"Sweet Summertime".  Here's the inspiration photo. We are to be inspired by the colors,,,,

They also want us to include a flower or flowers,,,,,,,,,and include a stamped element!

So here's my entry!

I cut out this fabulous image with Romantic Rectangles, and used an "itty bitty Unity stamp" to "post mark" the stamp in the upper right hand corner,,,,,,some pearls, lace and hand dyed seam binding, as well as several hand made roses and a hand made apple blossom pull the colors all together.  Paper is Prima Meadow Lark,,,,,,absolutely PERFECT for this challenge,,,,I love it!

Here's a close up of this gorgeous image (from free vintage digi stamps, button to the right)

I just love this image, and I pulled it into Pic Monkey and added the sentiment "For the Dearest of Friends",,,,and tomorrow, it will be in the mailbox headed to "the Dearest of Friends"

I hope you enjoy your week,,,,,,,,,my Party Time Tuesdays blog post will be up tomorrow, and it's ANYTHING GOES week!!!!!!

Thanks for looking!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far :)  My husband and I are planning to go to the movies tonight, which almost NEVER happens, so I am looking forward to that,,,,

But I had a bit of time to craft this morning and decided to play along with the shabby girls at the Shabby Tea Room.

Challenge number 124 is "Oh so pretty in pink",,,,,,,and I couldn't resist! Now for some reason, SHABBY is a tough one for me,,,,I love it so, but just do not seem to have much talent for it. Ah well, practice makes perfect!

Here's the inspiration photo,,,,,,

so cool and refreshing looking after the heat most of the country has been having lately!

They also want us to have a flower on our card,,,,,,,,,,well, I love pink and I love flowers,,,,,so I had a lot of fun!

I got the image at Free Vintage Digi Stamps (button to the right) some time ago,,,,,,and I just KNEW it was perfect for this challenge!  I made the roses from Spellbinders spiral blossom 1 out of coffee filters that I had inked.  The cherry blossom was made with Spellbinders Rose Creations die out of coffee filters, inked, scrunched, dried and stamens added.  The leaves were Spellbinders Foliage, inked pink, and I added some pearls to the Recollections corner bling element to tie in with the pearls added along the lace and pink velvet ribbon. The butterfly bow was created on a wooden bow maker,,,,,,,,,easy peasy!

Here's a close up!

I hope you enjoyed the card!! And thanks for looking!

A Sassy Challenge!!

I love Sassy Cheryl's Digi Challenge!!!  Tonight I just happened to have some extra time to make a card, so I pulled up Cheryl's and WHODATHUNKIT?? A challenge!!!!!!  LOL,,,,,,,,this week Cheryl wants to see polka dots!!!!! Well, I just LOVE polka dots, so off I went to find a Sassy Cheryl's image!

Here's the card I made! If you click on the image, you'll be able to better see that the background paper is all polka dots, the paper that this darling image is matted on is pink polka dots,,,,,,,,,,and there are even TINY polka dots on the rose paper surrounding the rose!

Isn't this image darling?  I colored the image with prismacolors and baby oil. The flower is Spellbinders Spiral Blooms 3, which is BRAND NEW (I just bought it!)  I again cut out some coffee filters and rolled the flower. I left this one white though.  Some lace, a sheer pink butterfly bow and some bling flourish, and she's finished!  It's so CUTE,,,,,,,I am going to keep it to give to my niece just before she goes off to the University of Dartmouth this fall! I SWEAR it was just yesterday that child went to Kindergarten!!!!

Here's a close up of this darling image! (I believe it's called "First Day of School" and it's a Sassy Cheryl's image)

I hope you enjoyed the card, and thanks for looking! Run right over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge blog and load up your polka dot card! If you use a Sassy image, you get TWO entries for the prize drawing!

Pink and Peach.

Good Evening,,,,,,,It's summer time in Florida,,,,,,,,and along with temps in the 90's and humidity rates to match, summer comes with thunder storms. And with thunder storms come power losses,,,,,,,

so I spent yesterday in a dark house, my husband was working,,,,,,,,no television,,,,no phone, no radio,,,,,making cards by candle light LOL. Thank GOODNESS for manual die cutting machines!!!!

It turned into a pretty pleasant evening,,,,,and I really enjoyed it. Who knows? I might turn all the lights off and make cards by candle light again some time LOL.

So Here's what I made :)

I wanted to be simple (candles don't give off much light, afterall LOL), yet do something different than my normal,,,,,,believe it or not, all four cards were made with one piece of paper,,,,,One side was a collage of different papers, and the other side had this gorgeous peach pattern on it,,,,,,

I made the roses using the Spellbinders spiral blossoms 1 by cutting out (of all things) coffee filters. I found that coffee filters both roll well, shape very easily AND can be sprayed with tinting spray and take the color very well.  I embossed the tops of two of the cards and just used minimal patterned paper for contrast (click on the pics for detail). Some lace, pearls on a string, and some ribbon and I'm very happy with them!

Hope you enjoyed the cards, and thanks for looking!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas in July!!!!!  It's Tuesday, and time for our Party Time Tuesdays challenge! And this week, we at PTT are celebrating Christmas a bit early!  We want to see your Christmas cards and projects this week!

Our Amazing sponsors this week are,,,,,,,,,,

Martha Pineda, Digi Delights, The Digi Garden and Viva Decor!  So thanks to all our generous and amazing sponsors!

I had such FUN with this week's challenge, and I hope you do too! This is the time of year I start with my Christmas cards and projects because I am just WAY too busy in November! (I've started my holiday shopping as well!)  And I just LOVED this little project!

I cut the mitten shape twice out of red felt with spellbinders Nested Mittens using the largest mitten. I glued the mittens together with hot glue to create a pocket,,,,,,some lace, another felt snowflake (spellbinders 2010 snow flakes), some pearls,,,,,,,and a cinnamon stick wrapped with a bow stuck in the pocket really created a festive mood.  Then using some red and white baker's twine from Martha Pineda, I braided a hanger which I glued inside the mitten,,,,,,,,I colored the Digi Garden's adorable snowman and accessories image with copics and cut them out for the final finishing touch to this adorable ornament.  It will hang on my tree and smell SO GOOD with the cinnamon stick!

Here's a close up of the Digi Garden image!

I hope you join us this week for our Christmas in July Challenge over at PTT, and I hope we've inspired you to get your Christmas projects and cards started!  Happy Christmas in  July!

After printing my lovely, vintage "tennis couple" in black and white, I distressed the image and framed it with  Labels 18, which I embossed with my Tapestry embossing folder. The paper is Graphic 45 "A Proper Gentleman",,,,,I made the bow from sheer ribbon on my bow maker, a length of black velvet ribbon and a few primas, and she's finished!

Here's a close up!

Christmas in July!!!!

Good Evening!!!  Believe it or not,,,,,,this is the time of year I start my holiday cards,,,,,Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah,,,,,,yep, I start them in July. I am wayyyyyyyyyy too busy in November and December to do them then LOL.  Well, in the course of making my holiday cards, I decided to make a little set for a dear friend of mine who loves my cards and is always so appreciative when I send her one. I know she will love and use them,,,,,,,and it was a warm up for me LOL, seeing as how I'm going to be making a hundred or more between now and December :)

So without further ado, the set I made for my friend,,,,,

Paper is Recollections Holiday Traditions from last year (nothing out yet this year LOL) and I used a variety of spellbinders to cut out the stamps, which I stamped on Kraft paper with versafine onyx black ink. So quick and easy to put together, yet they look lovely as a set.

Doreen, I love you hon,,,,,,,hope you enjoy them!

Have a lovely weekend! My Sugar Creek Hollow post is up Saturday!

Color Inspiration Challenge!!!!

Good Morning!!!! Today over at Party Time Tuesdays, we have a fabulous challenge for you! Another color inspiration challenge!!

Here's your color inspiration!

I love this week's color inspiration because normally,,,,,,yellow is just not my color! But this week's challenge got me out of my comfort zone and I am really THRILLED with the way my tag turned out! Yep, I did a tag rather than a card. Thought I'd shake things up a bit LOL.

And here's my tag!

This week's fabulous sponsors are Viva Decor, Martha Pineda (who supplied the gorgeous lace and white ribbon), the Stamping Boutique and the Digi Garden, who provided stamps for our Design Team to work with,,,,,,,,My adorable stamp was provided by the Digi Garden, and it's called "On a Wing and a Prayer",,,,,,,,how cute is that?

I colored him with prismacolors and baby oil (which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine) and layered him over scrap paper in shades of yellow and white,,,,,I threaded a narrow white ribbon through the lace and pulled it to ruffle it and then layered it across the bottom and added 2 butterfly bows in yellow and white, two prima flowers and a stick pin,,,,,,I just love how bright and cheerful it looks!!! It's going on a gift for a dear friend who's had a serious injury, and I am sure she'll love the darling image and bright cheery colors :)

Here's a close up of this really adorable image,,,,,

I hope you liked the tag,,,,,,,now run right over to Party Time Tuesdays and upload your yellow card! Maybe you'll win a prize!
