Have a MICE week!!!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far,,,,,tomorrow is my 28th wedding anniversary, and so my DH, Jaime, and I are going to Disney World for a few days,,,,,,we're staying at the Port Orleans Riverside, and we LOVE that hotel!!!!! Even if we COULD afford something far more luxurious, we wouldn't LOL,,,,,,,,it's the atomosphere we love! Pray for good weather, please, it's supposed to rain quite a bit. We go to Disney World all the time, but it would be nice to have nice weather for our anniversary!!!!

Today I have two cards to show you. I got three sets of house mouse stamps (along with some new copic refills) in the mail the other day, and I have been playing with them! I love them! Just too adorable!

These cards are made with the smallest of the stamps,,,,,,,,,I was playing and wanted to practice coloring fur (easier than you'd think with these stamps!), and so I had a bunch of colored ones, and decided to put together a few simple cards so as not to waste them.

Mostly, I used the Preppy Princess stack,,,,,,,scraps, mostly, and they are FAR more clean and simple than I usually make,,,,,,but they were so darned cute, I couldn't resist just using some pretty paper and letting the stamps shine. The GORGEOUS stick pins are from my friend Glenda,,,,,,,THANK YOU GLENDA! I love them, as you can see!

I hope you enjoyed, and I'll see you in a few days! Have an awesome week!

A FOR ADORABLE!

Hello! Hope you all are having a good week! We're half way through it!

Today I have two cards, both made with adorable images from Mo Manning. I love her stuff,,,,it's fun to color, and her digis are CHEAP! Most of her stuff runs 3 bucks,,,,,with the occasional 5.00 item tossed in. I had the pleasure of choosing seven of her stamps to work with the other day (thank you DH!) and I want to show you a couple of the cards I made with her images.

I just couldn't resist her stamp "Patience". Patience is a virtue,,,,,,poor cat LOL. I colored the image with copics, OF COURSE, and couldn't resist making this sweet little girl a red head to sort of match the cat's orange fluff. I've cut her out with Labels 3. The paper is an old stack I've never used, so I am very happy that I managed to use a couple sheets! It's the "Pet Stack" from DCWV,,,,,,,,and as you can see,,,,I've not even used any ribbon or bow! Easy peasy, and sweet as she can be!

The other card uses Mo's "Kai in the snow" and I especially love this image because of the joy on this baby's face! Also, it's neutral sex,,,,,,,,your coloring will make it a boy or a girl, and I always feel like I'm getting two stamps for one price when I am able to do that! Colored with copics and cut out with Labels 3, and I've used an old DCWV stack here, I don't even know the name LOL, that's how old it is. the snowflakes are sizzix, and I've layered them and added pearls and it's done! NO BOW OR RIBBON TODAY!

I hope that didn't make any of you faint LOL.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for looking,,,,,,,

If you'd love to get one of these adorable stamps for yourself, just run right over to Mo's, and they can be yours for a very reasonable price! Here's the linky! I THINK I've figured out how to do that!

Sweet As Candy,,,,,,,

Good afternoon,,,,,,hope you all had a lovely week and are looking forward to an even lovelier weekend!

I have a card for you today,,,,,,I'm entering it into the "Sweet As Candy" challenge over at the Pixie Cottage. I don't have any of their stamps YET (and how I'd love to have some!) but fortunately, that's not required ,,,,,, I really love how this turned out!

I used an adorable image I bought from The Greetings Farm of two mice sharing a candy cane, and I thought this CERTAINLY went along with the Sweet As Candy theme! Additionally, I used the optional sketch they provided,,,,,,,,,,very very cute sketch! so hop on over to the Pixie Cottage www.thepixiecottage.blogspot.com and check out their challenges! You still have 4 days to enter this one!

The paper is Recollections paper line,,,,,,,,it has tons of really bright traditional christmas paper, and the candy cane papers really matched well with my image.

I used 3 nesties for this one,,,,,,,,,,classic ovals large, eyelet circles, and the flourish from lacy doily motifs, a ton of pearls and bling (which I colored red with my R39 copic to match the outfits on these darling mice!) and I generated the sentiment in my computer and used my Happy Everything tag kit from JustRite to cut it out.

Hope you enjoyed, and thanks for looking!

Pretty In Pink!

Hi everyone! Today I have a quick and simple card that gives (I think) a pretty big bang for your buck!

the image was free, and it's absolutely stunning,,,,,,,all precolored, I didn't even have to break a sweat to make this card!

5.5x5.5, and I used the Preppy Princess stack fromo DCWV for the various papers on this layered card. No coloring, no inking,,,,,,,,,,,easy peasy! some paper, dimensionals, a few pearls and bling and a classic oval nesty and the card is done.

But unmistakably, the shining star of this card is this gorgeous FREE rose wreath! Simply STUNNING. It was given away so generously by Nettie Baker at http://www.thequiltshow.com/bb3/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=4777. I believe it's intended for printing on fabric for quilts, but when she gave it away over at sb.com, she (rightly) thought that card makers would love it!

So generous! So go on over to the Quilt Show and get your free rose wreath!

Thanks for looking! Oh and btw, that pink ribbon is made from the same ribbon that I'm giving away! Hope you enjoyed the card :)

BLOG CANDY!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful week! No card right now (I've been finishing a paid order, so haven't had much time),,,,,,,BUT I do have some blog candy for you! It's just a little give away, nothing huge,,,,,,,,but I'm hoping someone will love it!

I've been wanting to do a give away since I started my blog,,,,,,but with working nights and then being out of work, so everyone else using MY car,,,,,,I haven't had a for sure day that I could get to the post office and mail :)

Now that I DO, however, my give away is pretty simple!

Four colors of hand dyed seam binding,,,,,2 yards of each color (that's 24 feet of dyed seam binding FREE!),,,,,,,,,and possibly more than 2 yards :) Depends on how much I have :)

The colors are a gorgeous medium blue,,,,,,,,,a medium pink, truly lovely, a peach/peachy pink, and a light orange,,,,,,,,,some of my favorite colors that I tend to use over and over again!

The seam binding is hot water bath dyed in RIT dye, so it's not crunchy like it can get when dyed with paint products or glimmer sprays,,,,,,,it's soft and makes the lovliest bows!

So, to win, all you have to do is

1) become a follower if you aren't already (if you are, skip to step 2)

2) leave a comment on THIS POST. Any comment will do,,,,,just say "HI!"

3) be sure to include your email in your post so that I can notify you that you won.

A winner will be picked Friday morning, so you have until Thursday night to leave a comment!

That's IT!

If the winner doesn't claim their prize in 5 days, I'll pick another winner!

I hope you enjoy the blog candy and thanks for reading! I'll be back later with some cards!

FREE PAPER!

who wants free scrapbook paper? Better yet, who wants free scrapbook paper that never depletes????? who wants to be able to print their favorite sheet of paper over and over and over again??????? Who wants to be able to just shrug it off and print another if they make a major boo boo???

If that's you, then you really REALLY need to check into digital scrapping,,,,,yeah, I know, you like the glue and the paper and the dimension of paper scrapping,,,,,,,me too,,,,,,,and I like sending a physical paper card!

But digi paper isn't just for digi anymore :) These gorgeous papers are so easy to print and they look stunning! They are every bit as gorgeous as store bought paper, and they are at the touch of your mouse when you need just the right paper and it's 2am in the morning (because, hey,,,,,,,don't we all scrap at 2am when we can't sleep?)

since I make cards, I don't even need a 12x12 printer,,,,,,,,I just resize to fit my page, and in 12 seconds, I have gorgeous digi paper printing out,,,,,,I chop it up just like store bought and make my card :) So easy,,,,,,,and so MUCH of it is FREE! Even the ones that AREN'T free are NEARLY free,,,,,,I've seen collections as cheap as 1.00,,,,,,,,on average, a collection of 20-40 papers is about 2-3 bucks. and WHO CARES if there's one you can't stand,,,,,,

I tell you, it's amazing! And I've had some more fun today with digi papers :)

The Wish Upon a star card is a free mini kit I found googling,,,,,,no one claims it as far as I can see,,,,,it was a link of a link of a link LOL,,,,,,,but it fits my baby card so perfectly, I had to print it.

colored with copics, this darling little bear goes so well with this paper! Bow is 1.5 inch double face satin,,,,,,and it's just stunning,,,,it drapes so well for bows. My little bear is cut out with classic circles large and popped up on pop dots on lacy doily motifs. I cut out a few stars with a star punch using some of the contrasting paper.

I also got this santa paper FREE from http://misscutiepiegoes80s.blogspot.com/2009/11/freebie-vintage-christmas-paper-pack.html. This mini kit is just fantastic,,,,,,4 gorgeous pages including this vintage santa face,,,,,I shrunk it down and used it like a vintage image, framed it in postage stamps, inked it with Ranger sepia archival ink. I dyed some seam binding and draped some pearls on a string,,,,,,,,some sizzix mini snowflakes cut out of the matching paper in the kit,,,,,and a few gems. The gorgeous (and I mean GORGEOUS) burgundy background paper is part of this set, and it is STUNNING. It makes such a gorgeous card, don't you think?? I BELIEVE stamp is, of course, JustRite,,,,,,love their sentiment stamps.

Hope you enjoyed the cards, and I'll be having a few more free digi papers and websites for you to check out later in the week! Thanks for coming and I hope you come again :)

NO COPICS!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend,,,,,,it was the first full weekend my DH had off in months! Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate and we never got to Disney, thanks to a storm out in the Gulf of Mexico,,,,

but we finished up some holiday shopping on Saturday,,,,,,,,,and then we lazed around all day sunday and did NOTHING LOL. I didn't even get out of my pajamas on Sunday,,,,,,,,,

but it was a lovely, lazy weekend!

Today I have two cards,,,,,,,,,,,,and believe it or not, not a copic in sight LOL.

I have a new love in my life LOL, not that I'll leave my beloved copics, but i am having a lot of fun with digital paper to go along with my digi stamps! There's so much FREE out there!

Since I make cards and not 12x12 pages (mostly), it's a piece of cake to simply print out the papers on my regular color printer and cut them up for cards.

Shery K Designs is definitely someone you should check out! She has a ton of free digi stamps, free papers and very reasonably priced packages! I got the absolutely ADORABLE ladybug papers for FREE! It comes with ten sheets and it's really just too cute! I didn't even use them all here! So check her out at http://www.sherykdesigns.com/shop/

Now, on to the cards! The lady bug card is completely digital! I printed out the ladybug papers from Shery K designs and matted the lady bug (a precolored digi image) with my nesties,,,,,,,a bunch of coordinating buttons and I have an adorable fast and easy card for pennies! So cute!!!!!!!! I used my long rectangles straight edge and scalloped edge on the inside to frame the sentiment: What's Bugging You?

It could easily be a get well card as well (Caught a bug?) or an adorable children's card! Just too cute! Thanks Shery for all the gorgeous freebies you have in your shop, and I'll definitely be checking out her holiday mega-packs! for like 2- 3 bucks, you get 20 or more printable papers! Now that's a price I like for papers! How often do you spend 10 or 20 bucks for a paper stack when you know you'll only use half the sheets? And one is always your favorite and you're limited to two or three sheets of it? I can print out my favorites again and again,,,,,,,and for 2 bucks, if there's a few I don't use, I'm not worried about it! I can print only the ones I'll use!

This elegant wedding card (Mr&Mrs) is black cardstock for the base, and Shery's gorgeous free digi stamps. I printed out the digi stamps at a large size and then used it like background paper to cut my flourishes and lacy ovals out of,,,,,,,,,then I cut one of her gorgeous chandelier stamps out of a classic ovals large and constructed my center medallion. Some pearls, a computer generated sentiment and a double black and white bow, and I have a gorgeous wedding card for my stash,,,,,,,,easy peasy and it cost PENNIES!

Hope you enjoyesd, and I hope you go check out Shery K Designs and enjoy the digis you'll find there!

A No Copic Card,,,,,,,and 2 copics (I just can't help myself!)

Good Morning! I promised I would have a no copics card today, and I do! This ADORABLE purse card is made with a top note shape and topped with a lacy ovals shape for the closing flap,,,,,,,,isn't it cute?? I made it into a gift card holder by simply popping it up on pop dots so there's room behind it for a gift card. I finished the handle off with a string of pearls,,,,,,,,,and made the flower easily with the center of one of my spellbinders (lacey doily motifs) and topped it with some buttons.

It's made for the weekly card challenge over at Scrapbook.com, so pop over there to the card forum because Michelle has tons of great cards, a new one every week,,,,,,pop in and out as you like, it's very low pressure!

I made the sentiment on my computer and cut it out with my Happy Everything Kit! The paper is Recollections Christmas line,,, And it's all ready for a Christmas gift card!

I also have two copic cards to share today,,,,,,I tell you, I think I have fallen in love with MICE LOL,,,,,,,I can't wait to go back to work so that I can afford to buy some house mouse stamps! They are just the cutest,,

but these lovlies are from Elizabeth Dulemba again,,,she's most generous with her coloring pages for card makers,,,,,,,you can find her adorable images and information about her books at WWW.Dulemba.com.

paper is scraps,,i do see some Graphic 45 christmas paper there,,,,,,,and some scraps from the Recollections Christmas line,,,,,,,bows are hand dyed seam binding and regular old sheer ribbon (that makes such nice fluffy bows!) Again, I used spellbinders to make the frames and matting,,,,,,

the brown mouse is framed with the postage stamps and I've cut out the middle to make the frame with classic squares large. It makes such CUTE FRAMES! The mice watching Santa fly across the moon is cut out with labels 3.

I just love my nesties! AND my copics!

I do hope you enjoyed, and thanks for looking! I'll be back later in the week with more!

A COPIC NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!

I wanted to share with you all a bit about my copic nightmare. I don't normally complain about products or companies,,,,,,,

but what I have been through recently with OTAKUFUEL (the people I bought some of my copics from) is just unbelievable,,,,,,,

and apparently, I am not the only one.

I purchased 21 copic ciao markers from Otakufuel several weeks ago,,,,,,,,in two batches.

Many of them are fine,,,,,,,,,but quite a few dried up within days,,,,,,,

Initially, the company was helpful,,,,,,,,,,,,Copic had advised me that this was NOT normal, and so I emailed Otakufuel for a replacement.

As I waited for their email, several more became dry,,,,,,,,,

It started with one,,,,,then went to two and three,,,,,,,,,,,,,and finally, it was six.

Otakufuel did replace those six markers,,,,,,,,

and then three of those went dry,,,,,,,,,,

Think about it,,,,,I used up TWO C1 gray markers within a week! Something is not right,,,,,,,ESPECIALLY since I rarely USED the gray. I think I colored 3 gray mice, roughly 3 inches each. AT MOST.

I contacted Otakufuel AGAIN.

They proceeded to tell me that either I was using the markers incorrectly,,,,,,,,

OR,,,,,,

I was scamming the company.

Wait a minute here,,,,,,,,,,COPIC is the one that told me those markers should NOT have gone dry so soon,,,,,,,,I'd never have written to Otakufuel again if Copic had even SUGGESTED I might be doing something wrong!

They then informed me that I would be "flagged" as a trouble maker! And that COPIC would flag me as a trouble maker!

AND that they had CC'd Copic the email.

Which,,,,,,,,,,,they HAD.

And I sat there in absolute SHOCK that ANY customer service would STATE point blank to a customer that they were scamming a company,,,,,,,,AND that Copic would sit there BLITHELY and read such garbage and say NOTHING except what a reputable company Otakufuel was.

I've worked customer service. I'd NEVER have accused a client of A SCAM without any proof ESPECIALLY when there was a CHANCE it was something else,,,,,,,,,had I been using the markers wrong or with the wrong paper? Possibly,,,,,,,,,,but one would think that would be what the email contained,,,,,,,NOT an accusation of a scam! AND Copic themselves had told me the markers SHOULD NOT h ave gone dry that quickly!

It gets worse.

When I started a thread on scrapbook.com about the markers,,,,,,,,,,asking if they SHOULD go dry that fast,,,,,,,,,the answers I got were over and over again that they should last MONTHS.

Another sb.com resident stated she had bought markers from Otakufuel and she didn't want to risk it,,,,,,,,,,,,,as it was an unopened set, she was sending them back,,,,,,,

and Otakufuel named me BY NAME to another customer and told her that I was using the markers INCORRECTLY,,,,,,,,,

by name.

This level of unprofessionalism is simply beyond my understanding.

And it's simply not worth it. I've spend HUNDREDS on Copics,,,,,,,,,yet they assumed I was trying to scam them for less than 75 dollars.

I've had a few copics in the past that have NEVER been a problem,,,,,the majority of them STILL WORK FINE over a year later,,,,

it's not that I'm against the possibility that I am doing something wrong,,,,,or using paper I wasn't a year ago,,,,,,it's possible. I'll be changing my paper now.

But Good Golly Miss Molly,,,,,,,,,to be "flagged" and marked as a trouble maker when I emailed copic TO BEGIN WITH to find out THEIR ideas and they STATED the markers SHOULD NOT DRY OUT that quickly,,,,,,,,,,

and then to be held up as some sort of EXAMPLE to other customers?

I find it highly unprofessional,,,,,,,,,,,

and I will not be shopping at Otakufuel again.

And I'm not all that happy with Copic either,,,,,,,,,

however, I love my copic markers and I will continue to purchase them through either scrapbook.com,,,,,,,,,,

or through Rusty at Oozak.com.

you decide. Professional,,,,,,,,,,,,or grossly unprofessional?

HAPPY FALL!!!!!!

What a glorious fall day! It's lower eighties here in Florida, and the skies are blue and the humidity is low! It's been this way all weekend and into today! I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Mine was filled with Copic Drama LOL,,,,,I'll post later about that,,,,,

right now I have two cards to share,,,,,,yes MORE COPICS LOL,

I promise,,,,,,,,later I will post a no copics card for those of you who aren't yet addicted :)

My sister's birthday is in less than two weeks, so of course, I had to make a birthday card. The joke in our family is that the birthday cake will catch fire and you'll need the fire department,,,,,

And this adorable image from Elizabeth Dulemba (www.Dulemba.com) came to the rescue for my sister's card! I just loved how the fire and smoke atop this adorable cake matched our family's joke so well,,,,,,

and I had to take it to the max inside the card! Paper is DCWV's Sweet Stack and of course,,,,,,,,copics!

The pumpkin card is for my mom,,,,,,I just had to make her a little something that says HAPPY FALL!

Paper is old,,,,,scraps :) It's cute though, so I might as well use it up! And of course,,,,,,copics :) And hand dyed seam binding.

I also matted both cards with nesties,,,,,,,lacey ovals for the birthday card and eyelet circles and classic circles large for the pumpkin card,,,,,,

I don't know who the image for the pumpkins belongs to,,,,,,,It's a children's coloring page,,,,nothing on it that tells me who the owner is,,I am going to try and find out!

Have a lovely fall day, and enjoy your week! Thanks for looking!
